RIAS endeavours to find new ways to support our members in their professional lives. New government legislation is placing a higher burden on employers to educate and inform staff on financial matters.
To help RIAS established a partnership with Professional Financial Services (PFS) in 2009 to create a financial advice service for members at both a corporate and personal level. With this partnership we hope to achieve a service that will support members through the financial issues affecting them through their working life, clarifying how employers can comply with the changes ahead.
RIAS PFS provides advice across the range of financial services and keeps you abreast of new rules and legislation changes that affect you. It can also advise you on the best ways to adopt and implement these new rules into your day to day operations.
From this partnership RIAS members can benefit from a host of additional services:
- an annual budget report outlining any major changes which may affect the industry and/or its personnel,
- advice on both corporate and personal finance,
- business consultations for employers and their staff, which can be conducted either in-house or at a venue of your choice,
- individual consultations for members and their staff.
More information can be found on the RIAS PFS website www.riaspfs.com

PFS was established over 25 years ago by the current managing partner Frame Broadfoot.
PFS is a small independent business based in Glasgow and covers the whole of the UK. It is not tied to any financial organisation and is therefore able to offer independent financial advice across a range of areas.
PFS has a broad customer base. From the younger customer starting out, dealing with buying a property and starting a family to the retired business owner, dealing with pensions and inheritance, particularly in the current financial climate. Indeed, many of PFS's younger customers are the children of existing customers who have been with them for over 20 years.
RIAS recognises the importance of attributes such as independence, experience, longevity and ethics for any advisory role and so believe that the combination of Frame's 30 years experience in the financial services industry, as well as his company's management culture and business ethos, will provide RIAS members with helpful guidance and important benefits.
