Stonework Repair, The Trinity Centre

Tina Avery Architect

The building is both a church and community hall. The interior had been refurbished in 2007 and the external stonework now needed attention where cement render repairs were failing. Grant funding was obtained from Viridor landfill and The Big Lottery to reinstate the moulded red sandstone base course, cills and window mullions, renew lead gutters & flashings and repair slate roofs. An exact match for the red sandstone- Swinton Pink- was found in a local quarry and a last undamaged section of moulded base course was retained and used as a pattern. The West and North chimneys were re-built.
