1960's 'repairs' using inappropriate materials and the removal of stone carving caused ongoing damage to the exterior. No records existed.
Now a significant listed building on a route into the city saw our approved application for grant unlock joint funding by the client and Edinburgh World Heritage Conservation Funding Programme.
within funding the works included for substantial replacement of masonry and reinstatement of decorative stone carvings. Other repairs included feature external doors, windows, chimneys and rainwater goods.
As an exemplar of conservation in progress the project hosted delegations from abroad and recording of good practice by Napier University researchers.
