The extension to the Visitor Centre facilities at Rosslyn Chapel responds to a challenging brief. The new facilities provide space for visitors, exhibition, education, retail, café and staff accommodation. The warm tones of oak compliment locally sourced materials, including copper roofing, Caithness floors, Clasach stone and tan leather sliding screens.
After 500 years of weathering, Rosslyn Chapel was suffering from a wide range of decay. stone conservators worked over 5 years using techniques from museum conservation. The future of the Chapel as a place of worship and an international visitor attraction has been secured for the next 500 years.
