Bringing Confidence to Public Transport
Dundee City Council
Bus transport is often seen as the poor relation of more glamorous rail or tram systems. The Council developed the content of this programme in partnership with the City's major bus operators, retailers, disability groups etc. in order to fundamentally challenge that jaundiced stereotype. The interchanges are a safe, welcoming environment, incorporating the system's co-ordinated graphics, live bus and network information, and roof top landscaping. They are fully accessible and are designed in keeping with their intensive use and civic location. Their curving, sculptural form cradles the traveller, eases pedestrian flows through each shelter and the bus traffic around them.
