New Headquarters for Lerwick Port Authority

Malcolmson Architects

Albert Building is a B Listed corrugated metal clad building sitting at the heart of Lerwick harbour. The building has been home to Lerwick Port Authority since the mid-1990s. In recent years the Port Authority have expanded their operations and needed to reorganise their headquarters to provide a flagship facility that represented their aspirations for the future. The building was to be refurbished in three phases the first of which was to convert a former retail space into the new administration hub for the authority. Phase 2 created more office space for Harbour Operations and Lerwick Port Control with the final stage of a new board room still to be completed.
