Nairn Community Centre

LDN Architects LLP

At Nairn, the new community centre was an important first step in plans to regenerate the town centre, LDN was commissioned by The Highland Council to create a mix of flexible and purpose designed space on a challenging site.

With accommodation on three levels, the design takes advantage of the elevated site, there is a central daylit circulation space which gives access to large scale spaces for performance and recreational sports use, and to smaller spaces for meetings, pre-school, café and ancillary accommodation. Screens combined with optional entrance locations allow a variety of layouts and combinations.
