The house at South Street is the conversion of a stone pottery building to residential home. The project required special consideration due to its location within a conservation area and the close lying neighbouring properties.
The design sought to maximize the potential of the existing pottery building, reusing openings and retaining the open plan feel, while integrating more contemporary elements, in built furniture and simple interior.
Due to its constrained site, surrounded by other buildings, light shafts were introduced to bring west light from roof mounted glazing into the ground floor, creating a bright and airy interior.
