Ardchattan Priory has been a 2 Phase project resulting from changing weather patterns and a series of inappropriate interventions over many centuries. Water was driving through the cores of walls and chimneys, wetting spaces many metres below, cement pointing meant walls were failing to dry out; serial inadvisable structural alterations had been made to the original medieval structure and poor quality slate was becoming powdery. JGA have lead 2 projects repointing, rebuilding and reslating parts of the main Medieval and Victorian wings including the refurbishment of a cast iron veranda, new stone chimney heads, oak trusses and stone finials.
