Abbotsford House
A two-storey rear and one-storey side extension to a 19th century grand blonde sandstone detached property in mature grounds within Giffnock's conservation area. In form, the extension echoes the existing house; a slate-roofed, parallel, gabled volume, visually differentiated in white render and separated formally by a recessed band of glazing. Roof light glazing naturally illuminates the stairwell to the new guest bedroom & master suite on the first floor. A large glazed sliding door provides ample daylighting to the modern kitchen-dining space and access onto the large terrace and garden beyond, capitalising on the generous mature gardens to the rear.
