The oval walled garden is enclosed by a 4m high brick wall; a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Building was restricted to the site of former potting sheds to free the garden from development. The house is separated from a curved extension of the brick wall by a hidden flat roof. Cladding to the private garden is larch and white render, to distinguish new work from original. The small Garden Room gives views to the North. Small windows to the North, large areas of south facing glazing, well insulated timber frame construction and underfloor heating create an energy efficient home. Main Contractor H.M. Raitt and Sons.
