Forestry Commission Scotland District Office, Huntly

HRI Munro Architecture

This project involved the complete refurbishment of the existing office and a new extension to provide a wholesome working environment that also demonstrated innovative use of home-grown timber, including Scots Pine for structural elements, Douglas Fir and European Larch.

The building is situated in a pine forest and the design maximises the occupants visual connectivity with the woodland by means of high performance glazing, and also by the use of expressed tree-like internal timber structure.
