Extension, Conversion and Alterations to The Coach House

Bobby Halliday Architects

The Coach House was an existing outbuilding in the grounds of a Listed Victorian villa. The commission was to renovate and extend the coach house to create a new family home. The challenge was to develop a modern piece of architecture, whilst respecting the setting. Traditional materials and details created the elevations, whilst the ground floor became a contemporary open plan living space; achieved through extending the original barn and skewing the extension; incorporating a stair leading to a glass sided walkway crossing from the upper floor within the coach house and linking with the upper floor of the extension.
