An economical and energy efficient new house designed allow interaction with the established surrounding garden. The principle rooms connect onto the long pergola covered terrace and the main garden whilst service areas and more shaded patios are tucked away to the north. Internally, the barrel vaulted ceiling creates a large and airy space. A split sedum roof allows light deep into the plan and internal doors are aligned to create movement through the building. Chimney cowls were specially commissioned to provide interest, and the pergola's red columns signify good luck and strength.
