Union Square lies on the southern edge of Aberdeen City Centre adjacent to the harbour. This major mixed use, retail-led scheme was formed by redevelopment of the original 7.5 hectare rail goods yard, Aberdeen Rail and Bus Stations. The development brief required enhancement of existing public transport facilities, incorporation of new commercial, leisure and hotel uses to create a mixed use extension of Aberdeen city core. The masterplan was delivered in two principal phases, dynamic urban renewal augmenting revitalization of the historic 'Green' area which extends and links the city core from Union Street to Guild Street and Union Square.
