ANTA Architecture

Commissioned to extend the original 18th century listed building and create more space for entertaining in hunting and shooting lodge manner. The new extension has it's own character but is still very much in keeping with the surrounding landscape and adjoining building. The houses are linked through a low corridor that forms the new entrance. Colour was used as a device for bonding the houses together. The main feature is a baronial hall in authentic medieval style. Below is a billiard room with bold solid oak panelling and exposed beams. ANTA's approach of the modern medieval draws on arts and crafts detailing, the use of local traditional materials like slate and oak with the belief in vernacular and sustainable architecture.
