This project is located on the east coast of Lewis overlooking Broadbay and facing due south. The design was developed closely following the clients' brief and taking high regard of renewable energy technology and sustainability. It therefore incorporated underfloor heating fuelled by an air sourced heat pump and supplemented with photovoltaic and solar panels. The house is clad in Siberian Larch and high levels of insulation are incorporated throughout the envelope. Natural stone detailing also features in the design. Internally a double void has been created within the main living space overlooked by an upper level gallery.
