Garden Flat & Basement Extension

AIM

The original basement flat was dark and struggled for space. Following the reorganisation of a redundant cellar space, a new bedroom and open plan kitchen/living area was introduced. Solid walls were reduced to permit maximum sunlight to penetrate the deep plan, while large frosted glass panels utilise both artificial and natural light to provide further illumination. Wardrobes project through glass into corridor space where space in bedrooms is limited and a new opening through the 'B' listed faade provides access to the garden. Haddington Place has received several awards and was featured at the Royal Scottish Academy Annual Exhibition.
