Bent Primary School

AHR Architects Ltd

Bent Primary School is an 1800's school building which had been unsympathetically extended in the 1960's. AHR's first principle of design was to establish and advise South Lanarkshire Council of the merits in retaining all or part of the existing 1800's building, whilst still providing modern school accommodation to meet current education standards. The new extension replaced the existing, incorporating new classrooms, assembly/ gym / dining, breakout spaces, and kitchen facilities. The refurbishment of the existing building provides new office accommodation, dedicated GP and library spaces enjoy key architectural features provided by the retention and utilisation of the existing building.
