The preamble to the citation whenever the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland presents its Honorary Fellowship is always the same:
“Honorary Fellowship is only accorded to those who have made a very significant contribution to Scotland’s cultural academic, business or political life and to international figures whose direct or indirect contribution to world architecture is recognised through the invitation to join this very select group.”
Accordingly The Honorary Fellows of the Incorporation are a very broad church with diverse, backgrounds and talents.
This little book of contributions for the RIAS’ centenary displays some of those talents and shares the thoughts of a group of highly distinguished Scots beside submissions from a selection of the world’s greatest living architects. They are all, alongside the Members and Fellows of Scotland’s professional body for architects, in great creative company and good heart. Here’s to the next 100 years!
