The RIAS Awards 2022

The RIAS Awards have been championing Scottish Architecture since 2012.Drawn from all across Scotland, the winners of the RIAS Awards 2022 include a new secondary school that places students’ mental health and well-being at the heart of its design, the rescue and restoration of an iconic Modernist house, and an exquisite rural office building on the edge of the Balmoral Estate.

The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) has today (6th June) announced eight exceptional buildings as winners of Scotland’s national architecture awards.

Drawn from all across Scotland, the winners of the RIAS Awards 2022 include a new secondary school that places students’ mental health and well-being at the heart of its design, the rescue and restoration of an iconic Modernist house, and an exquisite rural office building on the edge of the Balmoral Estate.

Meet the Jury

Tamsie Thomson, CEO, RIAS, said “We are delighted to have such an expert and talented line-up to jury the RIAS Awards 2022. Our jurors play an essential role in ensuring the Awards highlight the best in Scottish architecture and promote it on a global scale.”

Murray Kerr

Murray Kerr founded the award-winning practice Denizen Works. Collective output is fundamental to Denizen Works. Murray promotes an open working environment, where everyone is encouraged to contribute. Ensuring a diverse solution is delivered to the client.

Christina Gaiger PRIAS

Christina Gaiger is the current President of The RIAS and is committed to the creative reuse of buildings, alongside the construction of a supportive network for the profession, to give traction to the value of good design.

Audrey Carlin

Audrey Carlin is the CEO at Wasps Studios, which provides affordable studio space for creative people across Scotland. Wasps also facilitate art exhibitions, workshops, events and markets and fund raises for development and regeneration initiatives.

Tony Chapman

Former Head of Awards for the RIBA, responsible for setting up its regional, national and international awards programmes. Before that he was a BBC TV producer making programmes about architecture and the environment.

Awards Dinner

There will be no dinner/event this year. The awards will be announced through the media and on our website on 6th June.
