RIAS Student Representative Elections

Want to make a difference to architecture in Scotland?

Standing for election is your chance to help make the RIAS you want it to be, and help shape its future. By standing, you ensure that the RIAS has a diverse range of voices to keep us moving forward.

The RIAS Blueprint is in your hands. By being a student representative at the RIAS Council you will have the unique opportunity to represent your peers, challenge the status quo, and ensure that the architecture industry in Scotland continues to move forward.

Student Council members become legal Trustees of the RIAS and you will work with the President and other Council members from the RIAS Chapters, and elected members to lead and supervise the organisations activities.

The biggest advantage of being a student representative is the boost your expertise and ensure emerging architects voices are heard. You will learn valuable skills in running an organisation and be able to work with leading architects throughout Scotland.

What's involved?

  • Attend 6 Council meetings a year

  • Learn from and network with experienced architects

  • Assist with developing the RIAS direction and drive change

  • Work with groups to establish policies, procedures and best practises

You are the future of architecture. As a student representative, you will be the voice for your peers within the RIAS. Your feedback, insight and passion will improve architecture in Scotland. Help to shape the future you want to live in.
