Bookseller Required

The RIAS is looking for someone passionate about architecture and design to work in our specialist bookshop. The position is available on a flexible basis from 5hrs to 15hrs minimum per week.

You will be expected to engage with customers, to familiarise yourself with currently stocked or available publications, and to be confident and able to assist potential customers.

It is important that you aim to ensure a positive customer experience. The RIAS bookshop plays a significant role in generating income and revenue. You will be responsible for the daily operations of the bookshop and supporting the Bookshop Manager in their role.

Working within the bookshop and across online channels, your insights and thoughts regarding changes, improvements, would also be welcomed in delivering growth.

Role profile

You would be reporting to the Bookshop Manager. Your role will ensure the day to day running of the retail offer and contribute implementation of the strategy to increase awareness of the shop. You will be expected to help create a welcoming environment for the public and RIAS members alike.

You will be required to work independently to ensure customers are always delivered a professional service.

This is an operational role. The appointed person will work up to 15 hours per week. The role will primarily be between the hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm but may require some evening working.
