RIAS Procurement Conference

This conference will review a number of key issues relating to current procurement practice and will include presentations from Brian Jukes on the economics of the Scottish procurement scene, Stephen Lynas RIAS, giving the contractor’s perspective, John Cole, Deputy Secretary, Health Estates Investment Group, Northern Ireland with the client’s view, Willie Watt FRIAS on the current European and UK procurement regimes and Barry White, CEO of the Scottish Futures Trust, on the mechanisms being employed by the SFT. The event will also include an introduction to our recent procurement report and will be hosted by the RIAS President, Sholto Humphries and chaired by RIAS Secretary Neil Baxter.

We anticipate a predominantly architectural audience but will be widening out the invitation to other professionals and contractors within the industry.

This event is designed as the first of a series to explore the issue of procurement specifically relating to the particular complexities of construction procurement. We are very keen to work constructively with the Government on this and have issued an invitation to them.

The event will be followed by a drinks reception at 5.00pm.
